Collection, determination, regeneration and evaluation of rangeland plant seeds of Hormozgan Province.

This investigation was carried out for collection, detennination, maintenance and conservation of Rangeland plant seeds of Hormozgan Province for Natural Resources gene bank and Germplasm during 1380 to 1385 in Hormozgan Agricultural and Natural Resource Research Center. 332 seeds were collected and sent to Natural Resources Gene Bank of Forest and Rangelands Research Institute. Most of the collected seeds were from these families and genera: Graminae (135 accessions), Papilionaceae (39 accessions), Chenopodiaceae ( 18 accessions), Compositae (20 accessions) , Polygonaceae (16 accessions), and Plantaginaceae (12 accessions) families were major families. This genuses and species had the most sample: Medicago polymorpha (12 accessions ) Plantago Sp(ll accessions ) Cenchrus Sp. (10 accessions ) Cynodon dactylon. (10 accessions ) Cymbopogon olivieri(9 accessions ) Chenopodium album (9 accessions ) Asphadelus tenuifo/ius(7 accessions) Trigonella Sp(6 accessions) Aerva persica( 6 accessions) Pteropyrum aucheri( 6 accessions ). Seeds were collected from Bandar abbas (88 accessions), Minab (69 accessions), Haji abad (61 accessions ), Jask (29 accessions), Qeshm Island (23 accessions), Bastak (16 accessions), Rudan (16 accessions),Gavbandi (16 accessions) and Bandar Lengeh (14 accession).
