Production and final evaluation of high oleic acid content sunflower hybrids

The experiment was conducted in two years and five locations to advanced avaluation of high oleic contet sunflower hybrids. The first year of evaluation was conducted in Karaj, Khoy, Kermanshah, Zanjan, and Ghazvin as lications. The results of Ghazvin were later on discarded and not included in the combined analysis. In general nine high oleic hybrids along with five commercial hybrids were evaluated in two years. Cosidering the main traits such as seed yield, plant height, maturity time, and oleic content, we were able to identify two mid oleic hybrids with comparable seed yield to the best commercial hybrids, Azargol and Farrokhm but more early maturity than the commercial ones. It may give us a key to improve sunflower for its oil quality, while the seed yield staied constant.
