Isolation and investigation of fluorescent pseudomonads of sidrophore production from rice root and evaluation of their efficiency.

Rice is one of the most important grains in Iran and many efforts have been done to increase its yield per square area. Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are diverse rhizospheric bacteria that are able to enhance plant growth and yield via different mechanisms. In this study, rhizosphere soil samples were collected from rice fields in Mazandaran and siderophore-producing bacteria were isolated. Isolates were identified using biochemical methods and their ability for siderophore production was evaluated. 16S rDNA sequencing was used to identify superior strains. Most of superior strains belonged to pseudomonas putida and p.fluorescens and were used for greenhouse experiment with Tarom rice variety. Treatments were five strains of bacteria and an un-inoculated control treatment in four replications. Results showed that population density of fluorescent pseudomonads in rhizosphere of rice varied from 3.6106أ to 9.1107أ per gram of the soil. P.putida has a greater population compared to p.fluorescens and p.areuginosa. All isolates from this study were able to produce siderophores. Based on the molecular studies, all isolates were clustered in 8 groups. Seven isolates were clustered with P.fluorescens ATCC 4964, four with p.putida ATCC 12633, and two with p.aeruginosa GRP3.
