Effects of Application Method of Liquid Pig Manure on Yield of Forage Corn and Feed Value at Paddy Field in Southern Region of Korea

This study was investigated the yield of forage corn, feed value and soil changes after the treatment of chemical fertilizer(CF)100%, liquid pig manure(LM)100%, LM150%, LM50%+CF50%, LM70%+CF30%, LM70%+CF50%, to identify the optimal application method of swine manure liquefied fertilizer in corn plantation in order to replace chemical fertilizers with livestock manure. The plant length, diameter and the fresh yield of forage corn were the most favorable in CF100%, LM150%, LM70% + CF50% treatment plots, and the lowest in LM100% treatment plot. In particular, the quantities showed similar numbers in LM150%and E treatment plots, and the lowest of 79% in LM100% treatment plot. Crude protein and feed value of forage maize also showed the highest values in LM150% and LM70%+CF30% treatment plots, but the lowest value in the ADF and NDF content. Regarding the chemical change in the soil, pH and exchangeable Mg did not show significant changes, but other ingredients showed a little higher content in the liquefied fertilizer treatment plot, except for chemical fertilizer plot. In summary, the above results demonstrated that it is advantageous to try the livestock liquefied fertilizer dividing in two times rather than at once to improve the yield and feed value while growing corn using livestock liquefied fertilizer replacing chemical fertilizers under the paddy field conditions, especially that it enhances the productivity while maintaining the soil fertility to treat LM70% followed by CF50% top dressing.
