English. The aim of the project was to investigate the local processing plant by-products using high-quality output options deer production. The objectives were: to investigate rape cake (by-product of rapeseed oil production) use patterns of deer feed rations and their impact on productivity, deer natural food background and environmental relationships animals’ faecal chemical and microbiological composition of 1 time per month, deer digestive tract morphology studies. Rapeseed cake into the feeding of deer increased their productivity Deer carcass lean of animals’ in the experimental group was 67.23%, 5.66% fat and 27.11% bones. Muscle and fat of deer carcass in test group were by 4.43% and 2.32% percentage higher while the proportions of bone 6.75% lower than in the control group. Accordingly, the proceeds from the sales of meat from an average of one animal of experimental red deer group were 15.50 Ls or 4.85% higher revenues than in the control group of deer carcass muscle. Rape-cake into the red deer rations did not change the morphofunctional state of the animals’ digestive tract. The present study describes results of histological and immuno-hystochemical (IHC) investigations of different parts of digestive tract and diffuse neuroendocrine system of captive farmed red deer (Cervus elaphus) in Latvia.

Uzdevumi bija: izpētīt rapša raušu (rapša eļļas ražošanas atliekprodukts no rapšiem) izmantošanas shēmu briežu barības devās un to ietekme uz produktivitāti, briežu dabīgās barības fona un vides sastāva sakarību izpēte ar gaļas kvalitāti gada ciklā, kā arī noteikt barības, asins, gaļas, izkārnījumu ķīmisko un mikrobioloģisko sastāvu 1 reizi mēnesī, veikt briežu gremošanas trakta morfoloģiskos pētījumus.
