The Malaysian-German Sustainable Forest Management and Conservation Project has the task to integrate the management of Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) into its forest management proposal for the pilot area (multiple-use forest management). In Result 5 of the Plan of Operation it is stated that quantification methods for selected NTFP have to be developed and guidelines for at least one NTFP is elaborated and documented in a Technical Project Report. This report takes a broader view and the issues of NTFP are discussed in the context of Non-Timber Forest Resources which include: (1) Non-Timber Forest Produce as defined by the National Forestry Act 1984(2) Environmental Services as to soil and water resources, climate and to biological diversity(3) Recreation, meaning assets, facilities and development potential especially for environmentally being nature travels(4) Research and Development, meaning assests and development potential for information creating forest stands and areas.
