In course of the research there were highlight morphological features, ecology, biology, population structure, construction and foraging activities, the factors of population dynamics and resource management of the beaver (Castor). The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research there were revealed beaver population on Berezina and its subsidiaries - Desna and Irtysh, on the basins of Dnipro, Pripyat, Neman, Viliya, Western Dvina, Western Bug, the fur, weight and body size of beaver, patterns of development of their internal organs, craniological characteristics, reproduction and reproductive dimensions, the quantitative composition of the settlements and the beaver families, species composition and variability of the feed supply, the content of trace elements in the feed, the organs and tissues of beavers. Analysis of the influence of anthropogenic factors on the beaver population was made.
