Soil incoming on separator working bodies of potato-harvesting machine may be in the form of fine particles and lumps, similar in size to the tubers, and assume a shape of large blocks of plastic or doughy mass. Rotary working device, mounted after digging plowshare, by means of rotating and flipping of the soil mass is an effective device for the destruction of soil formation, separation and breaking of soil lumps. Calculation of the deformation of the soil with the help of rotary working body is suggested in the article in consideration of soil plasticity. The article publishes the materials determining the width and length of soil deformation with a single blade of separating shaft of rotational working body of potato-harvesting machine, installed after digging plowshare, and the number of sections of separating shaft, depending on the width of the capture, is analyzed.
