The article represents the results of the research connected with reactive oxygen content, lipid peroxidation and cell membranes permeability in cucumber (Cucumis sativus) plants under narrow-band lightning. It is shown that light-emitting diodes lightning with one spectral band (red or blue) acts as a stress factor for cucumber plants which leads to accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), including hydrogen peroxide and to intensification of lipid peroxidation. Thus, the use of red or blue diodes only did not cause considerable violation of cell membranes integrity. The combined effect of narrow-band blue and red light on the other hand isn't considered by plants as a significant stress factor. During such treatment the general ROS level, levels of hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxidation products are significantly lower than under blue or red light separately, and cell membranes permeability is on the level of control plants grown under white light of fluorescent lamps.
