The article presents results of research into the interrelation of the economically valuable signs of hybrids F1 and parental forms of tomato and the effect of heterosis in hybrid combinations. We have established that the greatest effect of true heterosis happens when lines with low productivity hybridize with each other. Heterosis of highly productive hybrids makes a considerable contribution into the formation of signs of productivity
