In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were studied laws of inheritance of the size of starched grains in different types of potato (Solanum tuberosum) crossings. The estimation is given the hybrid combinations received from crossing of parental forms with various size of starched grains on frequency of occurrence in posterity of forms with coarse-grained starch ways of selection of parental forms for hybridization are offered. Perspective combinations, which are allocated, it is necessary to use for creation of grades with large starched grains. Based on retrieved data we can state that depression and intermediate inheritance were the most typical for a sign trait of the starch grains. Absence of correlation between the value of the mentioned above trait from their parents and the average value of the offspring, as well as the amount of coarse forms indicates the inefficiency of the original forms of selection for hybridization phenotype.
