Study of superior elite durum-wheat lines (DM-89-03΅ DM-89-04, DM-89-14 & DM-89-15) compare to local checks, on farmer's fields of moderate climate in Kermanshah province (On-farm)

Crop production increase per unit area is the main important aims of the Ministry of Agriculture on applied research projects at the way to self-sufficiency and independence. To find suitable and desirable durum-wheat lines for moderate zone of Kermanshah province and also Iran, four superior elite-lines selected from ERDYT M-89 project, as DM-89-03, DM-89-04, DM-89-14 & DM-89-15, and also Dena cv. & Aria cv. as durum-wheat checks, likewise, Parsi cv. as bread-wheat check, were planted by hand on farms of Islamabad and Sahneh townships farmer's field in Kermanshah province at 2012-13 cropping cycle. Each plot was contained 12 rows (on four 60cm ridges) and row spacing was 20 cm with 6 meters row-length. The experiment was carried out based on Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates on each site and finally, Combined Analysis experiment was run for whole of data. During the growing season, crop care and necessary measures and sampling were conducted. Leading-experts and pioneer-farmers were visited both sites of experiment many times during growing season particularly, on the spring. After physiological maturity stage, each plot was harvested by hand individually. Simple statistical analysis for the results of each site independently, and combined analysis for both site results, were conducted. Based on the outcome of combined analysis, lines number 4 and 14 were preferred as superior genotypes for continuing evaluation on following extension research project
