Duca, M. | Glijin, A. | Batir, L.
Orobanche cumana Wallr. (broomrape) is a holoparasitic plant naturally and highly distributed from central Asia to south-eastern Europe, where it parasitizes sunflower crops. The aim of this research was to investigate the seed micromorphology in broomrape populations native to different geographical regions of the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. The authors present a statistical evaluation of the intra- and interpopulation variability level in broomrape seeds. The studies have demonstrated significant distinctions in the seed length within and between populations. A clear tendency of the parameter distribution by the geographical habitat has been found.
