The role of grain sorghum for increasing organic matter in soil

the total content of microelements in stubble remains was 5572.5 and 5378.6 g/ha respectively, including iron – 4347.0 and 4195.8 g/ha, copper – 165.6 and 159.8 g/ha, zinc – 434.7 and 419.6 g/ha, manganese – 610.7 and 589.4 g/ha, cobalt – 13.5 and 13.0 g/ha, and iodine – 1.0 and 1.0 g/ha. It is established that humus reserves in soil of experimental plot were 486.3 t/ha. Incorporating of grain sorghum stubble remains by the mass of 31.29–52.60 t/ha of dry matter into the soil as an organic fertilizer provides the expected completion of humus from 4.7 t/ha for the cultivar Orlovskoye to 7.9 t/ha for the cultivar SP 270.

English. The aim of the research was to study the influence of grain sorghum cultivation on soil fertility. In irrigated conditions of Rostov region the experiments were carried out in 2011-2013. To select the best cultivars and hybrids of grain sorghum, the ratio of grain and stubble remains in the structure of above-ground mass of plants has been determined. Целью исследований являлось изучение влияния сорго зернового на плодородие почвы. В условиях Ростовской области на фоне орошения в 2011-2013 гг. проводили опыты по подбору сортов и гибридов сорго зернового для возделывания. Исследовалось соотношение доли зерна и пожнивных остатков в структуре надземной массы растений. Закладка опытных делянок производилась по методике Б. А. Доспехова, содержание макро- и микроэлементов в урожае определялось спектрофотометрическим методом. Рассматривалось 8 сортов сорго: Хазине 28 (контроль), Зерноградское 53, Орловское, Лучистое, Аист, СП 112, СП 214, СП 270. Установлено, что наибольшая урожайность всей биомассы получена при возделывании сортов СП 270 и СП 214, она составила 103,5 и 99,9 т/га соответственно, в том числе зерна – 14,9 и 14,8 т/га, корневых остатков – 10,8 и 10,4 т/га, листостебельной массы – 77,76 и 74,70 т/га. Наибольшее количество микроэлементов содержалось в биомассе, полученной при выращивании этих же сортов

There were eight cultivars under study: Khazine 28 (control), Zernogradskoye 53, Orlovskoye, Luchistoye, Aist, SP 112, SP 214, and SP 270. It was established that the greatest yield of the whole biomass was obtained for cultivars SP 270 and SP 214, the yield was 103.5 and 99.9 t/ha respectively, including grain – 14.9 and 14.8 t/ha, root remains – 10.8 and 10.4 t/ha, mass of leaves and stems – 77.76 and 74.70 t/ha. общее содержание микроэлементов в пожнивных остатках составило 5572,5 и 5378,6 г/га соответственно, в том числе железа – 4347,0 и 4195,8 г/га, меди – 165,6 и 159,8 г/га, цинка – 434,7 и 419,6 г/га, марганца – 610,7 и 589,4 г/га, кобальта – 13,5 и 13,0 г/га, йода – по 1,0 г/га. Установлено, что запасы гумуса в почве на опытном участке составляли 486,3 т/га. При заделке пожнивных остатков сорго зернового массой 31,29–52,60 т/га сухого вещества в почву в качестве органических удобрений ожидаемое пополнение гумуса составляет от 4,7 т/га у сорта Орловское до 7,9 т/га у сорта СП 270.
