Changes in blood parameters of cows during experimental treatment of fascioliasis

Russian. Фасциолез жвачных представляет большую опасность для человека и наносит серьезный экономический ущерб сельскому хозяйству. Известно, что фасциолы в печени крупного рогатого скота вызывают дистрофические изменения и нарушают работу органа, что отрицательно влияет на иммунитет. Целью исследования явилось изучение влияния экспериментальной терапии с использованием иммуномодулятора и гепатопротектора липотона на биохимические и гематологические показатели крови крупного рогатого скота при лечении фасциолеза. Объектами исследования служили 20 коров красно-пестрой породы двухлетнего возраста, инвазированных трематодами. Все они получили Альбендазол в виде 10%-ной суспензии в дозе 5 мл/50 кг массы тела. Животным опытной группы дополнительно вводили липотон-5000 внутримышечно 3-кратно с интервалом 48 ч в дозе 0,02 мл/кг массы тела. Было установлено, что после дегельминтизации у животных в крови повышается уровень эритроцитов (на 12,7-18,2%), гемоглобина (на 12,9-19,3%) и лейкоцитов (на 22,4-34,5%), а также сегментоядерных нейтрофилов (в 1,4-1,5 раза) и лимфоцитов (на 6,7-7,7%), содержание эозинофилов снижается в 1,5 раза. В сыворотке крови снижается активность ферментов, возрастает количество общего белка (на 10,2-14,3%), альбуминов (на 19,6-21,8%) и гамма-глобулинов (на 30,8-44,5%), глюкозы (на 8,6%) и холестерола (21,1-26,3%). Это свидетельствует о восстановлении структуры печени и ее функций. Липотон способствует восстановлению печени и всего организма животных, а также активизации гуморального и клеточного иммунитета через 15 дней после начала лечения, что обусловливает его высокий терапевтический эффект. Таким образом, применение антгельминтиков в сочетании с липотоном является оптимальным способом лечения фасциолеза крупного рогатого скота.

English. Fascioliasis of ruminants poses a great threat to humans and causes serious economic losses to agriculture. It is known that fascioles in the liver of cattle cause degenerative changes and impair the functioning of this organ with a consecutive negative impact on the immune system. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of experimental therapy with the immune modulator and hepatoprotector lipoton on blood biochemistry and hematology of cattle in the treatment of fascioliasis. The object of this study included 20 Red-and-White cows aged 2 years infested with trematodes. All of them received Albendazol in the form of a 10% suspension in the dose of 5 ml/50 kg of the body weight. The animals of the experimental group further received lipoton -5000 administered intramuscularly thrice 48 h apart in a dose of 0.02 ml/kg of the body weight. It was found that after dehelminthization the animals had increased blood levels of RBC (by 12.7-18.2%), hemoglobin (by 12.9-19.3%) and leukocytes (by 22.4-34.5%), as well as and increased levels of segmented neutrophils (by 1.4-1.5 times) and lymphocytes (by 6.7-7.7%) were registered, the content of eosinophils reduces 1.5 times. Serum enzyme activity decreased with increased total protein (by 10.2-14.3%), albumin (by 19.6-21.8%) and gamma-globulins (by 30.8-44.5%), glucose (by 8.6%) and cholesterol (by 21.1-26.3%). This indicates a recovery of liver structure and functions. Lipoton contributes to the recovery of the liver and the whole body of animals and activation of humoral and cell-mediated immune response 15 days after the treatment initiation causing thereby it’s a high therapeutic effect. Thus, the use of anthelmintics in combination with lipoton is the optimal method for the treatment of fascioliasis in cattle.
