English. The experience of developing and modification of forestry plans of subjects of the Russian Federation is analyzed. Possible causes and effects of decrease of planned in-dexes and also of efficiency of actions for use, protection and reproduction of forests are exposed. Ways of increase of a role of planning in forestry in achievement of the goals of a national forest policy are offered.
