Presented paper deals with analysis of possible forms of visitors monitoring in the protected areas. At present, several monitoring methods are used such as direct methods like counting people on chosen walking trails, counting cars and writings in summit books. Additional and very valuable information to direct methods present questionnaires which main goal is to get data on visiting motivation of chosen areas. We have found out that 66 % of polled visitors have knowledge on primeval forest-like natural preserves. For our area in Poloniny National Park we have chosen additional form of monitoring using the camera system which helps us and the national park administration employees to observe movements of visitors on the entrance to the National Nature Reserve Stužica.
