In a course of the research there was studied the internal sugar market of the Republic of Belarus on a range of indicators that characterize the most important parameters of its balance. The main trends and characteristics of the formation and use of resources of sugar, a price market conditions were highlighted. On the criterion of adequacy of own production characteristic periods in the development of the domestic sugar industry were identified, a brief description of them was given. A projected balance of Belarusian sugar market development in the 2015-2020 was presented. As a result of realized research there was revealed that in the country was reached a high level of self-sufficiency of the population by sugar, which excesses the need for it more than in two times. However, production volumes were decreased each year due to decrease of sugar production from imported raw materials and lengthening the campaign for processing of domestic sugar beet. According to the criteria of sufficiency of own production there was allocated three periods in the development of the sugar industry of the Republic of Belarus: the lack of security (1990-1995), the provision for the needs of critical level (1996-2000), the achievement of the optimistic level needs (since 2001).
