Accounting for inventories in the Republic of Belarus and its compliance with IFRS

Russian. В данной статье рассмотрена сравнительная характеристика учета производственных запасов в Республике Беларусь и согласно МСФО. Можно сделать вывод, что принципы учёта материально-производственных запасов в соответствии с действующим законодательством о бухгалтерском учёте РБ и МСФО достаточно близки. Однако существующие отличия в части определения состава запасов, их оценки в отечественной практике бухгалтерского учета запасов от требований международных стандартов свидетельствуют о том, что процесс реформирования бухгалтерского учёта достаточно длительный и сложный. Выделены особенности применения МСФО в бухгалтерском учете производственных запасов и основные расхождения учета производственных запасов Республики Беларусь и МСФО. МСФО не определяет четких правил отражения конкретных хозяйственных операций, поскольку они регламентируют принципы составления отчетности, в то время как в сложившейся белорусской практике предусмотрено четкое регулирование всего учетного процесса.

English. The given paper considers the comparison of inventory accounting in the Republic of Belarus and in accordance with the IFRS. It can be concluded that the principles of accounting of inventories in accordance with the current legislation on accounting in the Republic of Belarus and IFRS are close enough. However existing differences in terms of determining the structure of reserves, their estimations in domestic accounting practice of reserves from requirements of the international standards indicate that process of accounting reforming rather long and complicated. The particularities of IFRS application in inventory accounting and the main differences under accounting of production reserves of the Republic of Belarus and IFRS are highlighted. IFRS does not specify clear rules of reflection of the specific economic operations because they regulate the principles of reporting, while precise regulation of all accounting process is provided in the current Belarus practice.
