Accumulation of Pu isotopes in organs and tissues of wild boar (Sus scrofa) on the territory of the Polessie state radiation-ecological reserve

Работа посвящена изучению содержания альфа-излучающих изотопов плутония в содержимом желудка дикого кабана, полный жизненный цикл которого проходит в зоне отчуждения, а также их поступления в мышечные и костные ткани, печень, легкие. Для выделения Pu использовался метод анионообменного разделения с приготовлением конечной мишени путём соосаждения с осадком фторида неодима. Её анализ производился на альфа-спектрометрическом комплексе Alpha Analyst, Canberra с кремниевым полупроводниковым детектором типа PIPS. В результате проведённых работ определены уровни содержания альфа-излучающих изотопов плутония в содержимом желудка и во внутренних органах кабана (лёгких, печени, костной ткани, мышечной ткани). Показано, что печень является наиболее загрязнённым органом. Загрязнение органов и тканей снижается в следующей последовательности: печень - костная ткань - легкие - мышечная ткань. English. Evaluation of the contamination of feeding base of wild animals with Cs137 and Sr90 have been carried out in details in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus, but the datum concerned with other contaminating substances such as transuranic elements Pu238, Pu239 and Pu 240 along with Am241 are almost absolutely not available. But, taking into the account the increase of activity of Am241 due to Pu241 decay, the importance of the analysis of these radionuclides for radiation environment’s control of contaminated territories is rather high. The paper is devoted to determination of alpha-emitting radionuclides of Plutonium in gastro-intestinal tract of wild boars (Sus scrofa), as well as its entering into muscular and bone tissues, liver and lungs. Specific activity of Pu in internal organs of wild boars is analyzed. The average content of Pu in organs and tissues of animals is measured. It is shown that content of Plutonium in organs and tissues of wild boars are decreasing in following order: liver – bone tissues – lungs – muscular tissues. Results received in the course of the research allow evaluating the entering of Pu238, Pu239 and Pu240 in biological chain ‘soil – feeding ration – organs and tissues’. Translocation and accumulation coefficients, characterizing the movement of radionuclides from soil into organs and tissues of animals have been calculated.
