Results of the study of spring malting barley collection by some characteristics of grain quality under the conditions of Belarus

In a course of the complex reseacrh there was studied spring barley (Hordeum vulgare) collection samples. The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research there were revealed and summarizing of the obtained data, efficient sources by protein content, size and extractivity of grain for their purposeful use as initial material for the breeding of malting varieties. Highlight and proposed as a potential source of high-quality grain brewing of 5 collection samples: Stratus (Poland), the Philadelphia (Germany), Zazersky 85, Brewery and Ataman (Belarus). Varieties of the Philadelphia (Germany), Brewery and Zazersky 85 (Belarus) were sources of simultaneously several characteristics of high quality grain brewing. There were revealed varieties in which studied trait value regardless of the weather conditions were more stable during the growing season: the protein content in grain - Staly (Belarus) and Mik-1 (Russia), grain size - Ataman (Belarus), Philadelphia, and Alexis (Germany), extractivity of grain Thuringia (Germany), Staly (Belarus) and Linus (Denmark).
