EVALUACION DEL COMPORTAMIENTO REPRODUCTIVO DE CERDAS EN CUBA DURANTE 2010-2011 | EVALUATION OF SOW REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE IN CUBA DURING 2010-2011

Se realizó un estudio comparativo de los indicadores reproductivos de entre 52 y 56 mil cerdas correspondientes a los años 2010 y 2011 a partir de los datos acopiados en los boletines estadísticos emitidos por las 15 empresas porcinas estatales conque contaba el Grupo de Producción Porcina, GruPor, adjunto al Ministerio de la Agricultura de Cuba. Se encontró que en el 2011 hubo un incremento considerable (P0.05), en la mayoría de los indicadores reproductivos en relación con los alcanzados en 2010, exceptuando al indicador de cría por parto. Se demostró que a pesar de las dificultades con el suministro de los alimentos y las afectaciones sanitarias, es posible mejorar los indicadores reproductivos con un manejo eficiente en la piara de cerdas reproductoras.

English. A comparative study of about 52 to 56 thousand sow reproductive indices corresponding to 2010 and 2011 was conducted from data corresponding to technical bulletins of 15 Cuban pig enterprises, of the Pig Production Group (GruPor), Ministry of Agriculture. It was encountered that in 2011 there was a noticeable increase (P0.05) in the majority of reproductive indices with respect to those attained in 2010, except for the number of piglets per farrowing. It was shown that, in spite of difficulties due to feedstuff supply and sanitary conditions, sow reproductive indices can be improved as a result of an adequate management of pig herd.
