Performance analysis of (peasant) farms in the Republic of Belarus

In course of the research there were studied the peasant or farms in the Republic of Belarus. Farming is one of the relatively new legal forms of agrarian business, the occurrence of which is associated with the implementation of agrarian reform in the country. Agrarian reform, an important task which is to give adequate favorable conditions for all economic entities in order to ensure food security, is providing the development of the legal form as a farm. The trends in the development of farms from 2008 to 2012, an analysis of the number of employees, volume of production, production by regions and major economic indicators of farms were examined. Thus, farmers are a special structural element of the rural economy and rural areas, which feature is to improve their socio-economic importance. Despite the large number of existing problems in the functioning of farms their number gradually increased as the proportion of their products in social production. Problems in the activities of farms are quite extensive, ranging from the complex and time-consuming document turnover to problems with state support. Based on the international experience, it is clear that inter-farm co-operation is the component that helps to overcome the existing problems.
