The information about the degree of the genetic diversity of initial material was important for the development of new varieties. The object of the researches is 32 varieties of spring soft wheat from the collection of the National Bank of Plant Genetic Resources of the Republic of Belarus. The method of electrophoretic analysis of storage proteins could be used for genetic differentiation of variety samples and establishing relationship between them. Successful breeding work on the creation of new high-yielding varieties of soft spring wheat was largely determined by the value of the raw material, was involved in the selection process. Behavior studies had classified wheat varieties according to their group membership. This division did not contradict the data pedigree. According to the results of electrophoretic analysis of storage proteins could be judged on the degree of remoteness of genetic samples. This approach will allow the identification of valuable genotypes in the early stages of the selection process, which will decrease the volume of field research on the description of the collection of the material and reduce the time to create new varieties with desired properties.
