Effect of sowing terms on yield and some grain quality parameters of spring barley

In a course of the research there was studied the effect of sowing terms on yield formation, thousand-kernel weight and protein content in spring barley grain variety Brovar and Silfild. The research was realized in the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research there was revealed that delay with sowing dates caused yield decrease and grain quality deterioration.In the soil and climatic conditions of the central part of Belarus for obtaining of high grain yield of good quality malting barley should be sown in the early stages (when the physical maturation of the soil). When sowing barley in 10-30 days after an early period of the decline in yields on average for the period of studies in variety Brewery was 13.0-39.2%, and variety Silfild – 12.0-44.4%. The delay with the sowing of barley decreased the weight of 1000 grains in variety Brewery and variety Silfild on 6.5-17.1 and 0.5-15.9% respectively. The protein content in grain had studied varieties of malting barley at planting 10-30 days after an early period increased on average (in relative terms) on 3.8-28.3% in variety Brewery and 0.9-26.8% - the variety Silfild.
