Radiological aspects of agricultural production in the territory of radioactive contamination

В статье приводится оценка радиологического состояния производства сельскохозяйственной продукции на территории радиоактивного загрязнения в отдаленный период после катастрофы на Чернобыльской АЭС. В отдаленный период после катастрофы она, благодаря естественному распаду радионуклидов и проведению защитных мероприятий, постепенно улучшается. Об этом свидетельствуют снижение плотности загрязнения сельскохозяйственных земель и увеличение площадей с плотностью загрязнения менее 1 Ки/ км2, а также производство зерна, молока и говядины с все более низким содержанием радионуклидов. Вместе с тем в наиболее загрязненных районах Гомельской области и отдельных районах Могилевской области отмечается производство сельскохозяйственной продукции с содержанием радионуклидов выше требований РДУ-99.

English. The paper assesses radiological characteristics of agricultural production in contaminated areas in the long term after the Chernobyl accident. Due to natural decay of radionuclides and efficient protective measures implemented in such areas, the radiological situation on farm lands is gradually improving. This is evidenced by the decrease of their contamination densities and increasing areas of arable lands where the densities of contamination are less than 1 Ci/km2. Moreover, production of grain crops, dairy and beef products on these lands has been showing less and less concentrations of radionuclides. At the same time however, radionuclide concentrations in agricultural produce higher than the RPL-99 national standards can be still observed in some of the most heavily contaminated areas of Gomel region and certain districts of Mogilev region of Belarus.
