Sugar beet in the eastern regions of Belarus

In a course of the research there was payed attention to the fact that as a result of the measures taken to expand the area of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. saccharifera) and increased intensification of the industry. Belarus has fully satisfied the needs of the domestic market in sugar and, in addition, a significant part of the produce is delivered to the external market. In the process of solving the problem of food security of Belarus, measures were taken to substantially increase the volume of sugar production. For this purpose, sugar factories were modernized and transferred into the category of plants. Sugar - the main product produced in the industrial processing of beet and raw cane. World sugar production by one third depends on the resources of raw beet, two-thirds - of the potential of cane. According to statistics, among the CIS countries for the production of beet sugar Belarus ranks third (after Russia and Ukraine). Currently, the country is not only fully stable and provides the domestic demand for sugar, but also significant amounts of this product is exported.

Обращается внимание на то, что в результате принятых мер по расширению зоны сахарного свеклосеяния, повышению интенсификации отрасли Беларусь полностью закрыла потребности внутреннего рынка в сахаре и, кроме того, значительную часть продукции поставляет на внешний рынок. В процессе решения задачи по обеспечению продовольственной безопасности Беларуси были приняты меры по существенному увеличению объемов производства сахара. С этой целью модернизированы сахарные заводы и переведены в разряд комбинатов. Сахар - основной продукт, получаемый в процессе промышленной переработки свекловичного и тростникового сырья. Мировое производство сахара на одну треть зависит от ресурсов свекловичного сырья, на две трети - от тростникового потенциала. Согласно статистическим данным, среди стран СНГ по производству свекловичного сахара Беларусь занимает третье место (после Российской Федерации и Украины). В настоящее время республика не только полностью и стабильно обеспечивает внутренние потребности в сахаре, но и значительные объемы этого продукта поставляет на экспорт.
