Желудочно-кишечный тракт функционально связан со всеми основными системами организма животного. Более 60% всей иммунной системы организма локализуется в желудочно-кишечном тракте. Желудочно-кишечный тракт выполняет очень важную метаболическую функцию, отвечая за переваривание и всасывание питательных веществ, обезвреживание токсинов, метаболизм гормонов и витаминов, воспроизводство энергии и т.д. Паразитирование гельминтов, паразитических простейших в желудочно-кишечном тракте приводит к глубоким нарушениям обменных процессов, а также угнетению активности клеточных и гуморальных факторов защиты организма. Снижение роста и развития, потеря массы тела животного - одни из первых признаков заражения телят паразитами. Однако заражение животных паразитами желудочно-кишечного тракта может даже протекать бессимптомно и проявляться с более острыми клиническими изменениями на фоне снижения иммунитета. Представлены результаты исследований патогенеза телят, инвазированных ассоциацией паразитов желудочно-кишечного тракта, основными из которых являются: снижение уровня розеткообразующих Т- и В-лимфоцитов, увеличение а1 и а2-глобулинов, снижение b- и g-глобулинов, повышение активности аспартатаминотрасферазы, аланинаминотрансферазы. Все это в комплексе указывает на высокий уровень иммунодефицита в организме телят.
