Kappa-casein is milk protein in milk composition. Cows with AB and BB genotypes are more suitable for highest milk crude protein and fat content than cows with AE genotype. The aim of research was to analyse the influence of κ-casein genotype on Latvian brown cow’s milk productivity traits. Data was collected from 84 Latvian brown cows from different dairy farms. Blood samples were collected and analysed in Scientific Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Microbiology of Latvia University of Agriculture for genotyping, but data on milk productivity was collected from Agriculture data centre. We did not find significant influence on milk quantity and quality traits. Highest milk yield was observed for cows with AB (5733.6±474.46 kg in 1st lactation) and BB genotypes (6427.5±142.36 kg in 3rd lactation). Highest fat content was observed for cows with AA genotype, but highest crude protein content and yield for cows with AB and BB genotypes. Lower values of milk productivity traits were observed for cows with AE genotype.
