Latvian eminent plant breeder Jānis Rukšāns presents the most extensive monograph on the genus Crocus. In it he summarizes his work on the genus that has lasted for nearly fifty years. He examines the morphology of crocuses, presents the keys for all the known wild species, and discusses his experience in cultivation and hybridization of these plants. The book is lavishly illustrated with more than 1700 photographs as well as with maps that show the locations of occurrence of the species in the world. In a word, a valuable and beautiful book for every gardeners and botanists. The book is divided into two parts. Part I deals with general information about crocuses and their cultivation. Part II describes the crocus species from A to Z.
