Reservoirs ’Barje’, according to the quantity of water, it’s natural and physicocemical properties, is a source of general public interest, which is classified as a source of the first rank. Today it is a source of water supply for the city of the municipality of Leskovac. This paper presents the results of physicochemical water quality studies of accumulation ’Barje’, made in 2009/2010. years, fifteen years after its formation. These results are compared with test results from 1995/1996. year, which is the zero accumulation of water quality testing. The quality of water reservoirs ’Barje’ is stiil on satisfactory level, which allows the use of projected processing methods, it can easily lead to drinking water quality and use in the food industry. There are, however, indications of the beginning of the process of eutrophication, as expected, in view of the inevitable phenomenon of aging reservoirs. Increase of nitrate nitrogen and orthophospate concentrations in relation to the zero measurement, are an early indicator of eutrophication process. It also increased the maximum pH value in recent studies, indicating increasing primary production, which is also 15 years since its formation, indicating the presence of eutrophication process. For these reasons, the ’Barje’ needs to work on developing chemical-biological and technological measures to eleminate eutrophication processes, their slowing down, and in order to preserve water quality. Based on the physical and chemical testing of water reservoirs ’Barje’ it can be concluded that the nature of accumulation has not changed much over the period of its formation, fifteen years ago. The quality of water reservoirs ’Barje’ is still on satisfactory level, which allows the use of projected processing methods, it can easily lead to drinking water quality and use in the food industry.
