Integrated management of water resources in the Drina River Basin

The Drina River basin has a significant water and energetic potential that has not been sufficientlyutilized. In this paper are presented basic characteristics of an available hydro potential of the Drina River. Primary users of water on the current level of basin development, as well as the possible ones that may apper in the future are mentioned. The importance of an integrated management of the river’s hydro-energetic and water resources is underlined with regard to many problems that are not purely of technical nature (social, environmental protection etc.), as well as the presence of many unsolved issues regarding perspective use of its waters, that slow down or even disable further activities on the realization of, above of all, energy facilities whose construction is of vital importance at the moment.
