Research on the prevalence of Trypanosomiasis in buffalo herd and it's treatment measures in Tuyen Quang province

There were 773 buffaloes tested and proven positive for trypanosomiasis in three districts: Yen Son, Ham Yên and Chiem Hoa of Tuyen Quang province. The following results were obtained: the prevalence of trypanomiasis was 13.45%; this prevalence increased in accordance with the age of these buffalos; the prevalence of this disease in animal under 2 years old was 6.73% while it was 28.57 % in animals over 8 years. Three approved treatment regimens were established in these districts. The results were: Adizin medicine reached 93.94% of effectiveness; while Trypamidium samorin medicine was 100%; Trypanosoma medicine was 97.06%.
