2014

The study was conducted on herd of Landrace and Yorkshire Sows (just sows? Or both male aud female?); commercial crossbred pigs F1 ( ‰PiDu X ŠLandrace) and (‰PiDu X ŠYorkshire) in Yen Son and Son Duong district - Tuyen Quang province. The purpose of the study was to assess the reproduction and productivity traits of Landrace, Yorkshire and their growth potential, meat production and quality of commercial hybrid pigs. Results showed that some indicators of reproductive physiology achieve relatively high and stable in the farrowing litter. Age of first mating ranged from 259.14 to 282.33 days, with body weight from 101.28 and 107.22 kg; age at first farrowing of sows ranged from 373.48 to :396.78 days; number of piglet/little was varied from 10.94 to 11.22; number weaned pigs/little ranged from 9.88 to 10.24. Average weaning weight reached 6.10 kg from Landrace sow and 5.94 kg of the Yorkshire. Commercial crossbred pigs F1 ( ‰PiDu X ŠLandrace) had growth rate better than FI (‰PiDu X ŠYorkshire from 2.10 to 3.29% body weight gain (p0.05). FCR of commercial crossbred pigs were varying from 2.70 to 2.73. The Carcass of commercial crossbred pigs had significantly differed between two breeds, however meat quality indicte were not significant different.
