A Study on the Mentoring Effect of Organization Members by Implementation of the Mentoring System

This study investigates the relationship between the types of mentoring and the characteristic of mentor and Mentoring effect(mentees' self-efficacy and organizational commitment). In this study the mentoring effect focused on types of mentoring and the characteristic of mentor is studied. The subjects of the research are 218 people by mentors/mentees experienced over six months mentoring in six domestic corporations, two public institutions, and one NGO. The pre/post surveys are given to them and after the statistic process using SPSS WIN 12.0, validity analysis, reliability analysis, factorial analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis are used. Through analytical researches, change of mentees' self-efficacy provided as mentoring effects is influenced by mentors' self-efficacy, psychosocial skills, and unofficial patterns. It is also confirmed that change of mentees' immersion toward organization is effected by work experienced skill and career role model skill in functional skills of mentor. Therefore, for the success of mentoring system in organizations, the informal mentoring type based by intimacy and reliability between the mentor and mentee needs to be invigorated than formal mentoring, and it should be recognized the difference of mentors' functional skills on the purpose of mentoring.
