Vermikomposta izmantošana substrātos liliju (Lilium spp.) uzziedināšanā
2017
Balode, A., Latvia Univ. of Agriculture, Jelgava (Latvia). Faculty of Agriculture
Institute of Agrobiotechnology in Jelgava, in the heated glasshouse during the period from February 11, 2016 until May 27, 2016. Commercial vermicompost produced by Green-PIK LAT was used with neutralized peat substrates in two different ratios 1 : 4 and 1 : 10. Neutralized peat substrates without vermicompost were used as control samples. Two lily cultivars – Asiatic lily ‘Staburags’ and LA lily (Lilium longiflorum × Asiatic lily) ‘Sonora’ were used for this trial. Three bulbs (5 cm diameter) per cultivar and treatment were planted each in 1.5 L pot. Plant height, leaf length, number and diameter of flowers, as well as flowering time were measured during the experiment. The obtained results showed that vermicompost had a significant positive effect on the plant height and leaf length compared to neutralized peat substrates without vermicompost. The most appropriate ratio of vermicompost and neutralized peat, which had a stimulating effect on the plant height and leaf length was 1 : 4. This study also indicated that vermicompost did not have a significant effect on the number of flowers and diameter, as well as on the time to flowering. Both lily cultivars had flowers in average 70 days after planting.
