Family education for improvement of children's with special needs quality of life. Goal of the research: justify the families’, in which there are children with special needs, pedagogical opportunities for quality of life improvement, terms and significance o f the family education programme for quality of life improvement. Research tasks: carry out analysis of scientific literature about the quality of life development possibilities from the perspectives of pedagogy, philosophy, psychology, sociology and economic sciences; analyse educational correlations of the families, in which there are children with special needs, with their quality of life; identify the terms of the competence forming process and influencing factors for the families; develop an education programme; state and assess the significance of the family education programme for the families where there are children with special needs; analyse the link between family quality of life and development of competences ; develop a multidimensional development model of the family education programme and link between the dimensions of family quality of life and development of competences. Research methods: 1. Theoretical methods: analysis of scientific literature; analysis of regulative and normative documents. 2. Empirical data acquisition methods: survey in the form of frontal questionnaire, interviewing with the help of a partly structured interview, expert evaluations. 3. Empirical data processing methods: statistical methods of quantitative mathematics; the qualitative research method – content analysis was applied. According to the outcomes of the parents’ interviews, the developed and implemented programme of family competence improvement has been worked out in a qualitative way and is useful for quality of life improvement. However, it is necessary to develop its content in compliance with the families’ needs. Also the assessment provided by the experts is positive.

Latvian. Promocijas darba pētījuma mērķis ir pamatot ģimeņu, kurās ir bērni ar speciālām vajadzībām, dzīves kvalitātes pilnveides pedagoģiskās iespējas, nosacījumus un ģimeņu izglītības programmas nozīmi dzīves kvalitātes paaugstināšanas veicināšanai. Pētījuma uzdevumi: veikt zinātniskās literatūras analīzi par dzīves kvalitātes pilnveides iespējām; analizēt ģimeņu, kurās ir bērni ar speciālām vajadzībām, izglītības mijsakarības ar dzīves kvalitāti; identificēt kompetenču veidošanās procesa nosacījumus un ietekmējošus faktorus; izstrādāt ģimeņu izglītības programmu; noteikt un izvērtēt ģimeņu izglītības programmas nozīmi ģimenēm, kurās ir bērni ar speciālām vajadzībām; analizēt ģimeņu dzīves kvalitātes saistību ar kompetenču pilnveidi; izstrādāt daudzdimensionālu ģimeņu izglītības programmas attīstības modeli un ģimeņu dzīves kvalitātes dimensiju un kompetenču pilnveides saikni. Pētījuma metodes: 1. Teorētiskā metodes: zinātniskās literatūras analīze; regulatīvo un normatīvo dokumentu analīze. 2. Empīrisko datu ieguves metodes: aptauja frontālas anketēšanas veidā, intervēšana ar daļēji strukturētas intervijas palīdzību, ekspertvērtējumi. 3. Empīrisko datu apstrādes metodes: kvantitatīvās matemātiskās statistikas metodes; kvalitatīvās pētniecības metode – kontentanalīze. Saskaņā ar vecāku interviju rezultātiem, izstrādātā un realizētā ģimeņu kompetenču pilnveides programma ir izstrādāta kvalitatīvi un ir noderīga dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanai, taču tās saturu nepieciešams papildināt atbilstoši ģimeņu vajadzībām. Arī ekspertu sniegtais programmas izvērtējums ir pozitīvs.
