Physical and chemical traits were studied during the two-year period (2012‡2013) in four apricot cultivars (‘NS-4’, ‘NS-6’, ‘Novosadska Rodna’ and ‘Novosadska Kasnocvetna’) and four selections (SK 16a, SK-1, SK 13a i SK-3) that were selected at the Faculty of Agriculture, Novi Sad. The orchard was established in 2008, in the village Maradik on Fru{ka Gora mountain. The rootstock was Prunus cerasifera Ehrh. and the interstock ‘Stanley’ plum cultivar. Tree spacing was 4 x 2 m. All examined cultivars and selections had very large fruits, except for the ‘NS Kasnocvetna’. The highest fruit weight was achieved in cultivar ‘NS-4’ and selection SK-16a. The largest fruits were found in cultivar ‘NS-4’ and the smallest in cultivar ‘NS Kasnocvetna’. All cultivars had large stone. Stones were the largest in cultivar ‘NS-4 and the smallest in cultivar ‘NS Kasnocvetna’. The highest flesh ratio was recorded with SK-13a and the lowest with ‘NS Kasnocvetna’. The highest soluble solid content was detected in ‘NS-4’, and the highest total acids content in ‘NS Kasnocvetna’. The best performance in a high-density orchard was shown by cultivar ‘NS-4’ and selections SK13a and SK-16a, which stood out for very large fruit, high flesh ratio and high content of soluble solids.
