Onion production in the Republic of Serbia could have a far greater significance, but the opportunities are insufficiently used, unfortunately. Onion export from Serbia in the period from 2004 to 2015 was analyzed in the paper. The following were analyzed: exported quantities (t), export value (US $) and average export prices. The analysis was performed by descriptive statistics. The estimation of onion export parameters in the forthcoming period (2016-18) was carried out based on the established rate of change in the analyzed period. Fresh onion export had a positive rate of change of 23%. The average exported quantity of onions amounted to 5,654 tons, at an average price of 234 $/t, with total export value of US $1,413,000.00 on average, annually. A further increase in the quantity, price and export value is expected in the next three years. Thus, Serbia will become one of the leading exporters of onion in the region.
