Age peculiarities of the activity of glutathione peroxidase in sheep | Возрастные особенности активности глутатионпероксидазы у овец

English. Glutathione peroxidase activity can be used in evaluating the health of sheep as a marker of oxidative stress and as an indirect method to define selenium. In its turn, for correct evaluation of results of the research it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the activity of this ferment stipulated by such factors as sex and age of animals. In this research the activity of Glutathione peroxidase in sheep of different technological groups (ewes, gimmers and rams at the age of five months) in midland of Russia was defined. The activity of Glutathione peroxidase was defined by the colorimetric method in samples of whole blood of clinically healthy sheep. Age differences between gimmers and ewes have been stated, higher activity of Glutathione peroxidase of ewes compared to that of gimmers (p not more than 0.01) have been observed. Between the groups of gimmers and rams no significant difference in the activity of the ferment studied has been stated. The coefficients of variations of the activity of Glutathione peroxidase have been defined. A high variation of this index in all analyzed animal groups has been marked. For all groups of gimmers and ewes the variation coefficient was 34%, for the group of rams – 31%. The referential activity intervals of glutathione peroxidase activity in sheep (breeding stock and young stock) in the summer period have been calculated. Referential interval of Glutathione peroxidase activity was 64.65-222.42 u/g Hv and 44.26-156.09 u/g Hv for ewes and young stock correspondingly. Data obtained in the given research can be used in evaluating the condition of the antioxidant system in ewes as well as in monitoring the disability of productive heath of breeding and young stock.

Russian. Активность глутатионпероксидазы (АГП) может быть использована при оценке состояния здоровья овец в качестве маркера оксидативного стресса, а также как непрямой метод определения селена. Для корректной оценки результатов исследований необходимо учитывать особенности АГП, обусловленные такими факторами, как пол и возраст животных. Определена АГП у овец разных технологических групп (овцематок, а также ярок, баранов в возрасте 5 месяцев) в условиях средней полосы России. АГП определялась колориметрическим методом в пробах цельной крови клинически здоровых овец. Были установлены возрастные различия между ярками и овцематками, у овцематок наблюдалась более высокая АГП по сравнению с ярками (р не более 0,01). Между группами ярок и баранов не было установлено значимых различий по активности изучаемого фермента. Были определены коэффициенты вариации АГП. Отмечена высокая вариация данного показателя во всех исследованных группах животных. Для групп ярок и овцематок коэффициент вариации составил 34%, для группы баранов – 31%. Были рассчитаны референтные интервалы АГП у овец (маточного поголовья и молодняка) в летний период. Референтный интервал АГП составил 64,65-222,42 Ед/г Нв и 44,26-156,09 Ед/г Нв для овцематок и молодняка соответственно. Полученные в проведенном исследовании данные могут быть использованы при оценке состояния антиоксидантной системы овец, а также при мониторинге нарушений продуктивного здоровья у маточного поголовья и молодняка овец.
