Poultry market and its prognosis until the year 2020

The article focus on supply and buyer chain analysis of poultry in the term 2011- 2015 and on situation prognosis on Slovak market up to the year 2020. The emphasis is put on development of production, consumption and foreign trade. State of primary sector is assessed based on slaughter poultry sales including slaughter of own breeding and poultry consumption at farm. Within poultry industry it evaluates development of relevant economic indicators and use of production capacities. Part of solution is analysis of selected competitiveness indicators. Analysis resulted that since 2015 the poultry production exceeds domestic consumption. This trend will also maintain in forecasted period thereby creation of preconditions for export growth abroad and competitiveness improvement on domestic and foreign markets.
