The trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Prathista bio-organic fertilizer in hybrid tomato and peanut growth and yield. It was conducted at DA-CVRC San Felipe, City of Ilagan, Isabela [Philippines] for two cropping seasons of hybrid tomato and peanut (wet and dry) and at DA-IES Upi, Gamu, Isabela for one cropping season of tomato (dry). The two Test Crops were evaluated in the four treatments namely: T1- Farmers Practices (control), T2-50% FP + T3-70% FP + 50% PP and T4-1OO% Prathista products but result of soil analysis was included as additional treatment (DA-IES). Results revealed that the application of Prathista bio-organic fertilizer even at higher application rates did not significantly affected the hybrid tomato and peanut yield. This is despite the observed significant effect on the plants root-shoot ratio and number of fruits (in the case of tomato). Having comparable results, it means that the Prathista bio-organic fertilizer can serve as alternative to inorganic fertilizer, although, not quite cost-effective. While the soil samples taken from treatment plots applied with Prathista products showed increasing and maintaining initial soil Ph value. It therefore indicates that it is beneficial in addressing soil activity acidity but it has to be studied further.
