The basic goal of this paper is to investigate the effects of specific enterprise factors on the profitability of companies in dairy industry in Serbia. The sample consisted of four companies in the production of milk and dairy products that are listed on the Belgrade Stock Exchange for the period from 2008 to 2016. Results from the panel ordinary least squares model reveal a positive and statistical significant relationship between profitability and the firm size. On the other hand, leverage and book value per share show a negative significant relationship with profitability. The study concludes that large companies in dairy industry in Serbia manage efficiently with their funds and therefore have higher profitability.
