Low-protein starch products in diet therapy of children with hereditary metabolic pathology | Низкобелковые продукты на основе крахмала в лечебном питании детей с наследственной патологией обмена веществ

English. The only treatment of phenylketonuria (PKU) is dietetic therapy from the first days of life, when the products with a high protein content are excluded. The Research Institute of Starch Products has been developing technologies of low-protein starch products for children with PKU for more than 30 years. Its experimental production is organized at the Institute. To provide the appropriate nutritional and energetic value, the products comprise functional ingredients: inulin, dry egg products (yolk, mélange), vitamin components, freeze-dried dry powders from fruit, berries, vegetables, etc. More than 10 types of semi-finished products have been developed and produced on the basis of starch, enriched in functional ingredients. The tasting assessment and clinical studies of the tolerability and efficiency of low-protein starch products (LPSP) conducted on the basis of the Consultative Diagnostic Center "National Medical Research Center for Children's Health" under the Russian Federation Ministry of Health, showed their safety and positive clinical efficacy when using it in diet therapy of patients with hereditary disorders (PKU, in particular). This will significantly diversify the therapeutic diet, optimize its energy, food and functional value. During 2014–2017 in the experimental production of the Institute 69.4 tons of LPSP were produced, which are supplied to children of the Russian Federation, patients with PKU. ILPSP help ensure sufficient energy value of the therapeutic diet, which reduces the risk of hypermetabolism during intercurrent diseases and various stressful situations, promotes maintaining the stable level of phenylalanine in serum and normal nutritional status. The data on the work of the Russian Research Institute of the Starch Products on the development of low-protein enriched with functionalingredients starch products for children over 1 year old, patients with phenylketonuria, for whom a low-protein diet is the only method of treatment, is given. The Institute continues to work on the selection of ingredients, development of technologies and production of LPSP for children with PKU.

Russian. Единственным методом лечения фенилкетонурии (ФКУ) является диетотерапия: с первых дней жизни исключаются продукты с высоким содержанием белка. ВНИИ крахмалопродуктов более 30 лет занимается разработкой технологий низкобелковых крахмалопродуктов для детей, больных ФКУ. Организован их выпуск в опытном производстве института. Для обеспечения надлежащей пищевой и энергетической ценности в состав продуктов вводят функциональные ингредиенты: инулин, сухие яйцепродукты (желток, меланж), витаминные компоненты, сублимированные сухие порошки из фруктов, ягод, овощей и др. Разработано и производится более 10 видов полуфабрикатов на основе крахмала, обогащенных функциональными ингредиентами. Дегустационная оценка и клинические исследования переносимости и эффективности низкобелковых крахмалопродуктов (НК), проводимые на базе консультативно-диагностического центра "Национальный медицинский исследовательский центр здоровья детей" Минздрава РФ, показали их безопасность и положительную клиническую эффективность при использовании в диетотерапии больных с наследственными нарушениями (в частности, ФКУ). Это позволит значительно разнообразить лечебный рацион, оптимизировать его энергетическую, пищевую и функциональную ценность. За 2014–2017 гг. в опытном производстве ВНИИК выработано 69,4 т НК, которые поставляются детям РФ, больным ФКУ. НК помогают обеспечивать достаточную энергоценность лечебной диеты, что снижает риск развития гиперметаболизма в период интеркурентных заболеваний и различных стрессовых ситуаций, способствует поддержанию стабильности уровня фенилаланина в сыворотке крови и нормального нутритивного статуса. Институт продолжает работу по подбору ингредиентов, разработке технологий и производству НК для детей, больных ФКУ.
