In order to estimate the components of covariance in reproductive traits by means of an animal model with maternal effects, it was used a sample of 4 868 records of litters sizes born to CC21 sows, evaluated from 1997 and 2012. All the saws were form the genetic unit El Jigüe. The analyzed traits were: size of the litter at birth, number of piglets born alive, size of the litter at 21 days after birth and at weaning.
