Cultural landscape: content, perception, transformation. The Baltic States in European garden culture | Kulturlandschaft : Inhalte, Wahrnehmung, Transformation. Das Baltikum in der europäischen Gartenkultur
2019
In 2019, the “Böckler-Mare-Balticum-Stiftung” Foundation for the Study and Promotion of Cultural Heritage, founded by Martin Karl Adolf Böckler, devotes its current reading cycle to the research of cultural gardens and parks in the Baltic, Scandinavian, Eastern Europe and Germany, and new academic theme identification. The international conference, both in Riga and Turaida, reviewed the history of six national gardens and parks and introduced the preservation and transformation of historical planting cultural artefacts over the past decades. The conference participants from Germany, Finland, Poland and the three Baltic States shared the lessons of their research and, in the form of an expedition, met the most prominent Vidzeme historical parks and contemporary art samples.
