Uit onderzoek naar mogelijke alternatieven voor anti-microbiële groeibevorderaars, kortweg AMGB-s, bleek dat bij het weglaten er van de technische resultaten verminderen. Dit wordt met name veroorzaakt door een verslechtering van de voerconversie.
