To estimate the red king crab abundance stochastic version of cohort CSA model was applied based on catch from trawl and pot surveys as well as fishery efficiency data. The status of commercial stock of the red king crab in the Barents Sea at present shall not be regarded as critical. Yet strong pressure from fishery produced negative impact on biological and fisheries parameters of the population in 2008–2009
