Performance comparison of fabrics weaved using Aegean and Egyptian cotton yarns
Çetin, G.
This research has been based upon the effects of Aegean and Egyptian cotton fiber on performances of the fabric product. For this purpose, the quality characteristics has been determind at the first phase. At second phase 100% combed cotton has been produced and the quality of the fabric has been tested. At the third phase the fabrics have been weaved by using a main weave and the same fabric and tissue parameters. Finally density of yarns, fabric weight, tensile strength, tear strength tests have been applied to these fabrics. Upon the results obtained, statistical analysis has been done and results have been interpreted. When the results are analyzed, in terms of the characteristics determining the quality of fiber and yarn, distinctive differences in favor of Egyptian cotton have been observed about - the research subject- fiber and yarn. However it has been observed that the differences in question don't have the same ratio due to the discrepancy of the application differences during finishing process of fabric product's physical performance effect.
