Modélisation intégrée des flux et transformations d'azote à l'échelle du paysage

English. Indirect emissions are N2O emissions due to transfers of reactive form of nitrogen (Nr) by atmospheric or hydrological pathways. Actually the indirect emissions are mostly calculated using indirect N2O emissions factors that are highly uncertain and contested. At landscape scale, several types of ecosystems can interact through short-range transfers such as ammonia (NH3) emissions, transfer and dry deposition, as well as nitrate (NO3 -) leaching, transfers and recapture. The landscape scale is therefore relevant to study indirect emissions due to short-term transfers. The NitroScape model has been developed by coupling four existing model in a spatially distributed and dynamic way to compute Nr transfers and transformations in four compartments (atmosphere, hydrological network, farm buildings and ecosystems) of a landscape. NitroScape has been configured in several ways to assess the relative contribution of transfers and captures of reactive forms within the landscape and applied to several spatial distributions. The NitroScape model was able to produce Nr fluxes and transformations at the landscape scale. It reacted according the previsions in term of emissions and deposition pattern. The results of this work showed that (i) as expected N2O indirect emissions could be a significant part of the N2O emissions, (ii) both atmospheric and hydrological transfers have an impact on N2O indirect emission, (iii) both direct and indirect emissions varied according to spatial distribution of ecosystems within the landscape.

French. Les émissions indirectes de N2O sont dues à des transferts de formes réactives d’azote (Nr) par l’atmosphère ou le réseau hydrologique. Actuellement, ces émissions indirectes sont le plus souvent calculées au moyen de facteurs d’émission très incertains et contestés. A l’échelle du paysage, différents écosystèmes interagissent par transferts à courte distance (par exemple: émissions, transferts et dépôt d’ammoniac ou lessivage transferts et recapture de nitrate). L’échelle du paysage est donc pertinente pour étudier les émissions indirectes provenant des ces transferts. Le modèle NitroScape a été développé en couplant 4 modèles existants de manière spatialement explicite, et dynamique pour estimer les flux et transformations d’azote dans quatre compartiments d’un paysage (atmosphère, réseau hydrologique, exploitation agricole, écosystèmes). NitroScape a été configuré de plusieurs manières différentes afin d’évaluer la contribution relative des transferts et re-capture de formes réactives d’azote dans le paysage et appliqué à différentes configurations spatiales. Il a ainsi produit des estimations de flux et transformations d’azote à l’échelle du paysage. Il a réagi de manière prévue en terme de pattern d’émissions et de recaptures. Les résultats de ce travail de thèse ont montré que (i) comme attendu, les émissions indirectes peuvent être une part importante des émissions de N2O, (ii) les transferts atmosphériques et hydrologiques ont tous les deux un impact sur les émissions de N2O, (iii) les émissions directes et indirectes ont varié en relation avec la distribution spatiale des écosystèmes dans le paysage.
